Senate and House candidates who have won their primary election, and will now
fight to win the general election in November.
BPW/PAC will undergo another round of endorsements this week and those
candidates will be announced in next week€™s Legislative
Hotline. <strong><a
href="http://ga4.org/ct/jdS5qtF1VmW6/">You can now access the
websites of the endorsed candidates by going to the BPW/USA website and
clicking on their name.</a></strong> BPW/PAC encourages you to get to the know
the endorsees by visiting their website and learning about their stance on our
legislative priorities. </p>
<p>As the election draws near, it€™s
important that you become familiar with the 2006 endorsees and get involved in
€œGet Out the Vote€ activities in your community. <strong><a
href="http://ga4.org/ct/j7S5qtF1VmWO/">If you are interested in
doing a registration drive, please utilize the €œGet Out the
Vote€ guidebook.</a></strong> If your state federation is having a Fall
Board meeting, you should consider including some workshops at the meeting
about the €œpower of the woman vote€, share €œGet
Out the Vote€ ideas, and discuss how to register to vote in your

American Red Cross.</strong>

considered volunteering. BPW/USA would

have had with the Red Cross in order to gage the level of member interest with

year attendees will gain a better understanding of how the leadership of women
can create policy change and how the new Supreme Court will affect workingwomen€™s
issues. This is a preliminary agenda however
it gives a thorough overview of the activities for the two day
conference. Please start spreading the
word about the Policy and Action Conference so that members can take advantage
of this dynamic program. </p>

BPW members to sign a Title IX petition!</strong></a> BPW/USA needs to keep the pressure up on Title IX because opponents are urging
colleges to send out the Administration€™s new seven-page email
survey as a way to assess student interest in sports participation. If the
student doesn€™t respond, the school can interpret that as
non-interest and not add new sports programs. This is an unfair way of
assessing students€™ interests in sports and female students will
especially suffer. <a
href="http://ga4.org/ct/m1S5qtF1VmWI/">Please sign the petition
today to show your support for Title IX, an important law for women and girls
that BPW must help to protect.</a> </p>
