<h4>The Year of the Can-Do Woman

<br></h4></center>During my presidential installation, we revisited our childhood with the story of the Â“The Little Engine that Could.Â” It is an inspirational story of the little blue engine accomplishing BIG things all because of its Â“I think I canÂ” attitude. A positive attitude promotes positive action! Eventually, the little blue engine realized its Â“can-doÂ” goal by pulling the large broken-down train over the mountain and safely into the city. We all can do great things when we believe we can! Therefore, I am announcing 2006-2007 BPW/Dallas Inc. theme is Â“The Year of the Can-Do WomanÂ” Professionally, Politically, and Personally.

<br>Membership is on the climbÂ… We have so much to offer women in our communities. Support, encouragement, networking, mentorship, professional development, friendships, and a historical legacy are just a few of the great attributes of our BPW organization.

<br>

<br>We are having FUN along the way with great meeting speakers/presentations, our favorite B&B forum, Ways & Means pecan/red purse sales, networking socials, special programs, conferences, and much more... Our members travel to San Antonio for The WomenÂ’s Equality Breakfast Signature Event at Brooks Air Force Base, attended Region 4 Fall Conference in Hillsboro, Region 3 Conference at The WomenÂ’s Museum, and representatives shared in Oak Cliff BPW member, Ms. Jessie ComptonÂ’s 100th Birthday Celebration in Waxahachie. What a blessing that was! We have enjoyed combined networking socials with other LOÂ’s. In August, we met at Elegance Spa with BPW/North Dallas & Carrollton, which was a pampered treat! We have our second networking event planned with BPW/Frisco at Wells Fargo Bank and our Past PresidentÂ’s Tea scheduled in October.

<br>Politically, we will continue to support BPW/Texas and become more involved in BPW/USA platforms. We have much to celebrate as our own Dallas, Inc. members climb to greatness. Nancy Jackson is serving us well as BPW/USA President and Nancy Hodgkinson as our Region 3 Director. They are certainly supporting a BPW Â“can-doÂ” attitude and commitment!

<br>I want to see our Dallas, Inc. members accomplish more for themselves as well. I have challenged them to write their personal goal(s) in the front of my book, Â“The Little Engine that Could.Â” In June 2007, I will recognize those members who have made a special effort to accomplishments their goals.

<br>Our BPW/Dallas, Inc. “Can-Do” year is off to a great start and WE are sure it will be one of our best years yet! We cordially invite you to join us and make this your best year too - professionally, politically, and personally!
